SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Hello again, coverage in Chicago next week for Cardinals as well as Blues, concern about our ‘Note’, Doug breaks down the Blues’ 4-1 loss to the Canucks, concern with injury to Vladimir Tarasenko, not as much concern with injury to Alexander Steen, do not believe Blues will be able to go far in postseason without their two of their top forwards, captain’s log, Charlie with a new fancy mug this morning, Doug feels that he’s never personally purchased a mug, pronuncing ‘aunt’, send pretend ‘Aunt Tessie’ down the road because the Vaughn house does not have coffee, Doug cannot drink coffee, compares the drink to hot paint, can look smart sipping coffee, Charlie with some coffee-sipping sounds, Doug likes some hot cocoa, Plow Boy suggests adding cinamon to hot chocolate, traffic issues at DeBaliviere causing Charlie plus Doug to take scenic route to station, Doug would like someone to get to work, Plow Boy taking pic of his two different socks, should not matter since Plow Boy essentially wears slippers, Charlie wears flip-flops, might have to run (since we’re in the city)…, could use the flip-flop as a defensive tool, another terrible shooting involving parents plus 9-year-old girl at LaSalle Park, things with crime in the area already out of hand, cannot feel safe walking around the city, agreement/disagreement about what can be done, idea of more police presence might provide security yet will make our neighborhoods look like an occupied country, shifting to Scientology, all about the $$, once you’re in the club…, they want to control you, rightsholder scientology…, we all have a fear of the unknown, just need some Michigan J. Frog, need four pillars like Steve Spagnuolo had with his Rams teams, Doug running for political office, no self-confidence, Charlie and The Cat think Doug would win, very easy to compare our city to Detroit, policing the hot spots, finding out that Carlos Martinez will be the Cardinals fifth starting pitcher, projecting some numbers for that starting rotation, always seem to get a good amount of wins from Lance Lynn, coming up with some big numbers, no ball club can obviously succeed without their top pitchers, lack of concern for Adam Wainwright, still curious about Michael Wacha, still do not know much about the stress reaction injury, putting Jaime Garcia on the 15-day disabled list, looking forward at what the Birds may do with starting rotation in the near or long future, picking up the options on Garcia after this season, support the sponsors, top-shelf fries over at Monty’s, that Randal Grichuk was a steal…, like the Kevin Shattenkirk in the ol’ Erik Johnson trade for the Blues…, might start calling Grichuk ‘the piece’, wondering if he could have higher ceiling than Jason Heyward, Cards certainly like the young outfielder, adding muscle, Doug’s added muscle, Spring Training bodies, difference/similarities between pedigree of Grichuk plus Heyward, no way Birds would send Grichuk back to AAA (to start the season), Cubs don’t feel the same way about keeping young promising players on the opening day roster, Charlie does not feel bad for Kris Bryant or Scott Boras & system is broke.
SEGMENT 2 – Support the sponsors, would support more but Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch joins the show, behind the curtain of dealing with various presentations, Cardinals expected Carlos Martinez to be the fifth starting pitcher yet did not think things would go the way they have, should hear more about Jaime Garcia soon, projecting numbers for Jason Heyward this season, few more cuts to be done with the roster soon, thoughts on the upside of Randal Grichuk, the struggles of Kolten Wong thus far this Spring Training, had to be sent down to AAA early in the 2014 season, backup plans for second base if Wong does not improve, could see Matt Carpenter going back to second base if Mark Reynolds can hold down third base, would take more than Wong just struggling for a move like that to happen & Ryan Kelley calls.
SEGMENT 3 – We’re all Michael Bolton fans, that Bolton hair…, Doug talking about pleasure…, support the sponsors, WWE recap, hearing two clips from Wrestlemania plus Monday Night Raw, Larry Nickel joins the show, giving content to the clips, celebrating Wrestlemania with big party, eating plenty of chicken wings, top five countries, more back talk from Doug, something about the HOF induction ceremony, support the sponsors, eager to get update on Vladimir Tarasenko, seeing the play last night, really hoping to get some hopeful news about Tarasenko, had some laughs watching the Justin Bieber roast, thought that Shaq did well, hearing from Martha Stewart giving tips to Biebs about getting through prison, lot of jokes got pulled especially from Jeffrey Ross, sincere dislike for Bieber’s music by Hannibal Burress, SNL cast member joking about 9/11 in which his firefighter was killed at the World Trade Center, the usual roasters at these shows, other celebrities in attendance, Bruce Jenner made one joke with one Jenner plus Kardashian present, Bruce Jenner likes women yet wants to be one, Plow Boy wonders if there’s a special term for this, watching that Kardashian/Jenner programming & support the sponsors.
SEGMENT 4 – Supporting the sponsors, Todd Fuhrman of Fox Sports joins the show, gambling during March Madness, plenty of people sweating out the first rounds, been a good season for the tourney thus far, interesting end to Duke-Utah, casino taking $20,000 bet on Michigan State to win it all, been a lot of action on ‘Sparty’, hedging with the Spartans going into Final Four, not expecting win against Duke, intrigue with play on Kentucky vs Wisconsin, liking the under in that game, similarity between Michigan State and Connecticut from last season, the recent trends with UK, numbers on The Masters around the corner, futures on MLB, Dodgers and Nationals are the top NL teams, Cardinals right there at 10/1, not a lot of parity in baseball going into the season, liking the over for the Tampa Bay Rays, postseason futures on NHL Playoffs, Blackhawks still the favorite, Blues down the list, thoughts on LA getting NFL team sooner or later…, impressive work by Fuhrman, uncanny how close they get to final scores before games are even played, that crazy Duke-Utah finish that cost plenty of people money, had fun betting on Arizona to win by 23 points in the round of 64, Plow Boy says the score was wrong from Kentucky’s win over Notre Dame, support our wonderful Spring Training sponsor, taking a steam, Willie plans on taking a steam today, Charlie misses taking a steam, Lou Korac of NHL.com joins the show, Blues get mandatory day off after kind of taking the night off…, concern about Vladimir Tarasenko sufffering leg injury in game on Monday night, saw Tarasenko walking around after the game, interesting comments from TJ Oshie about there being too much information, locker room needs to squash any issues immediately, opponents are dominating Scottrade ice lately, another desperate team in Calgary coming this Thursday, hopefully there was not much more than frustration from Oshie’s comments, getting close to losing home ice advantage, could finish first or fourth in the division, dodged bullet with Alexander Steen injury, be surprised if Steen did not play on Thursday, reports from Brian Feldman at Spring Training, how Charlie conducts Spring Training journalism, Alpena would like Doug to unblock him on Twitter, cannot remember why Alpena was block in the first place, Doug requesting interviews in the old fashioned voice & the oddity of conducting journalism inside a locker room.
SEGMENT 5 – Email of the Day
