SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Willie failed getting a Cardinals’ guest after a historic winner for the Cardinals in Pittsburgh on Monday, trying to get to the bottom of who’s fault it is for not booking a big baseball guest, now a winner take all game coming to Busch Stadium on Wednesday evening not the afternoon (no shadow-gate), Adam Wainwright gets his second NLDS start and the Pirates chose to go with Game 2 winner Gerrit Cole, looking at the historic performance by rookie Michael Wacha, being able to identify a curve ball from a “breaking ball” especially when it is according to TBS, manager Mike Matheny going with pitcher Carlos Martinez once again in a tight spot at the end of Game 4, the PNC Park crowd probably not being as loud over the previous two games perhaps to the daytime start, sometimes a young player can just ignore or accept a big pressure situation.
SEGMENT 2 – Gabe DeArmond: The 5-0 #25 Missouri Tigers go between the hedges this week taking on the #7 Georgia Bulldogs, the difference in QB James Franklin this season and the chances of beating Georgia and some others down what look to be a seemingly horrifying stretch (Vanderbilt, Georgia, Florida & South Carolina), how the setting sets up well for the Missouri Tigers, how a win at Georgia for the Tigers can really give them attention, some are still skeptical of the Tigers’ abilities to win on the road against a Georgia team and how this could shape up to be a heck of sports weekend in the local area.
SEGMENT 3 – Joe Strauss: Matt Holliday coming through on Monday with a big 2-run home run, the general perception of Holliday with the media and the fans, the Los Angeles Dodgers winning their series over the Atlanta Braves after manager Don Mattingly took a risk pitching Clayton Kershaw on three games rest, now the Dodgers will have their second ace Zack Greinke ready for Game 1 of the NLCS, looking past the NLDS even though the Redbirds have not clinched the series over the Pirates, the Cardinals listen to the show to help make their rotation decisions and the starting goalie for the Blues in the Stanley Cup Finals.
SEGMENT 4 – Jim Edmonds: The amazing pitching by Michael Wacha after back-to-back 1-hit performances, Jim’s perspective on a noisy ballpark such as PNC Park is that it’s not a distraction for player but maybe only pumps them up more, Adam Wainwright getting the Game 5 start, Matt Carpenter struggling at the plate thus far in the NLDS, life after baseball, accepting the FOX Sports Midwest gang as an extended family, the media life as a whole and Doug’s fragrance.
