SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Hello again, Sweet 16 kicking off last night, Charlie calls Doug and The Cat “old”, captain’s log, do not label Ryan Reaves as an enforcer, Chuck going ‘blue’ with Doug, that fight from Steve Ott the other night, weird how fights get teams going, giving away tickets to Bellator MMA Unifinished Business, had the InsideSTL fantasy baseball draft, issues with Charlie logging into the draft, Charlie’s issue ruined all of Doug’s plans, using tablet instead of laptop, even Plow Boy was a bit sideways with Charlie, that Justin in Columbia causing trouble, Doug does not like his team at all, shouldn’t take too many players from the Cardinals, Charlie does not care much about characters since he drafted Johnny Cueto, Plow Boy and Doug already talking trade, amount of fantasy giants for the Redbirds, someone taking Kris Bryant early than we thought, other interesting picks, Doug still upset over the whole matter, players like Khris Davis taking adderall, Willie tells about his experience with uppper, buyers remorse from Plow Boy taking Jose Abreu, Doug still having some issues over the whole thing, having head phone issues, all fixed, Santiago from South Padre calls, we’re his third favorite radio show, suspension…, using the news choppers, storm coverage from the local stations, Willie was once told ‘he would be responsible for any deaths’ for not letting storm coverage on the air once at KMOX, blaming Willie for tornado deaths, talent do not speak anyone that’s not on the air, Dave Murray consults with Charlie on storm coverage, TV sounds like real tough work…, everyone wants their sound or report to be played, do not like when producers cut awesome sound bytes, kind of back to college basketball, that big white kid from Xavier, not everyone has genetics like Doug Vaughn, reminder that Doug is a maverick, Alpena still keeping his bet with Doug (Kentucky vs the field), Arizona might be the only team that can down UK, do not sleep on Wisconsin, they have a Jimmy Chitwood type of player, nice little story about Sam Dekker from Wisconsin, cute story from Nigel Hayes having embarrassing moment on the mic, Willie sideways that the guys describe the audio he pulls yet do not play the sound, might as well play the audio from Nigel Hayes, more audio about Dikembe Mutombo using line “who wants to sex Mutumbo?” confirmed by Alonzo Mourning, trying to find stats on Mutumbo, support the sponsors, should be able to score when seven feet tall, teams with shorter big men, we’re certain Frank Kaminsky could do well one-on-one against Mutumbo these days, not sure if Kaminsky can take game to NBA, thought that Keith Van Horn could have better NBA career & Ralph Sampson too.
SEGMENT 2 – Support those sponsors, Doug solving his audio issue, missing 8-track tapes, Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch joins the show, his thoughts on the history of 8-tracks, shifting to the Cardinals where it’s been happy narrative thus far, wants to see Lance Lynn take on some tougher competition, Kolten Wong hasn’t had the best spring, month of April will be quite telling for some questions moving forward, cannot win division averaging 3.8 runs per game, cannot count on Adam Wainwright to win 20 games, delta (to Doug’s dismay) on this team quite narrow…, The Cat thinking Matt Adam is they key to the lineup, Joe really likes Adams’ easy-looking power, things the ‘big man’ needs to improve, thoughts on Jason Heyward fitting into the lineup, Busch Stadium plays much bigger than Turner Field, hopefully some resolution to fifth starting pitcher decision, obvious logical choice would be Jaime Garcia, still odd how Cardinals kept saying that Carlos Martinez would be their guy, do not want to mess with Martinez’s psyche considering some factors, should be celebrating that all three fifth starter candidates have pitched quite well, common for John Mozeliak to take course of least resistance this time of the year, shifting to stadium news, whole situation seems to be expedited at this point, whole situation could be resolved during the next NFL regular season, the STL stadium task force needs to figure out financing quick, voice from fan base not wanting to support possible lame duck Rams, wondering how that would look with trying to get the Raiders or another team…, comparing Rams recent history to the expansion Browns, the fans of Cleveland have big time attendance numbers despite their futility, still liking the Blues especially how they’ve improved that back line, Charlie cheers for any Ohio team like CBJ this weekend, apparently Detroit is beautiful for a drive this time of the year, teams that Chuck liked growing up, other fond teams, families fight sometimes, asking Doug which family member will be sideways with him, Doug’s kid taking care of him as he gets older, deciding between pension or life insurance…, Doug figures the kids will still be living in the house when he’s 80-years-old, support our Cardinals home opener sponsor, listeners taking pics with Doug…, Charlie playing hurt losing his contact, Steve in Wilwood calls, Stanley Cup or bust…, drinking at the game, going to Cardinals weekday day game, day drinking, creating home office for tax purposes & to break or not to break…
SEGMENT 3 – Comments from Darren Pang from FOX Sports Midwest talking about Ryan Reaves wanting to see the fear in David Perron’s eyes, Charlie having more issues, sideways with Willie for not booking Mickey Tettleton, his cameo in “Little Big League”, nice anecdote about Tettleton, the former catcher’s stats, more Spring Training tidbits, those Brewers made a good decision with Kyle Lohse, praise for the DeWitt’s doing their successful work, Ryan Reaves of the St. Louis Blues joins the show, still does some enforcing, much more to his game these days, amusing comments towards David Perron the other night, no longer friends once on the ice, seeing plenty of former teammates in the past few weeks, was not always enforcer when getting into the league, enforcement came up once he hit the league, asking potential fight opponents what side of their face they like to sleep on…, few others like to drop the gloves, sometimes hitting someone’s helmet is more soft than skull, have to laugh at other plays sometimes, mutual respect for some players like Brandon Bollig after scrapping, does some boxing during the off-season, getting close to the postseason, obviously want the best seeding possible, lift from getting Kevin Shattenkirk back on the ice, Reaves much more of full players these days, fourth line much optimal as well, love for ‘CPR’ line yet team much more talented while having size plus toughness, Doug analyzes CBJ coming to town this weekend, Charlie now crying because of his contact situation, Charlie found the contact in his eye, support the sponsors & The Cat ready to gouge Charlie’s eye with a knife!
SEGMENT 4 – Charlie’s eyes…, big deal for us broadcasters, Bob Costas at the Sochi Games…, The Cat telling story about Doug, do not have makeup artists, have to wear appropriate shoes plus now pants while doing sports, Doug use to wear different things back in the day, buying makeup, Doug touching up after sportscast, no extra rouge for Doug, more antiquated terms, Doug going solo for a podcast, Doug skeptical on how to make money, JHE will come up with a nice presentation, Doug as a salesman, good deal on appliances, Doug with a ‘tude…, The Cat on front loaders, Doug makes a funny, owning stackables, getting a beautiful bathroom with a settlement, Dave in St Peters back, time for the Bertarelli Cutlery Cuts of the Week, back to Chuck’s contacts, things that Charlie buys at the store, difference between deodorant and anti-persperent, types of deodorant, the white chunky stuff, deodorants that smell like cologne, Charlie think he’s one of the best smelling people at the 2 Fox, Charlie feels he doesn’t smell, don’t need hair to be a bear…, Charlie wants people to think ‘peach fuzz’ when they see him, would not classify hairless Dolph Lundgren as a ‘twink’, other terms, Charlie would like to see Doug with some stubble, viewers want ‘grizzled’ look, Charlie admit to having a ‘rat tail’ when he was about 10-years-old, great hair trends from the 90s & John Vaughn once came home with a mohawk to support the Lindbergh basketball team.
