SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Looking forward to teleconference with Governor Jay Nixon on the Rams, not confident the Governor will say much, Doug might need to take on a third job, new show called “Doug’s Doozies”, political results from the mid-term elections, Doug went to a party for free food, Willie too, those Blues winning their sixth straight pillow-stacking contest, big doings tonight doing Q&A with Brett Hull and Kelly Chase, being prepared for this roundtable discussion, wondering if tater tots are better fried or baked, holster of sawces n’ fixins, difference between regular and breakfast tots, Plow Boy clears up the breakfast tot confusion, headline service between meat of the show, Doug hangning with blue bloods in Frontenac, another idea we’ll never do, the occassional “leakage” that could be handled by Jimmy “Two Times”, Doug tells a story about Greg Vaughn taking an online class that lead to a complicated online test, deviled eggs, underwater fires, POT HIM DOWN!!!, Joe Roderick breaching the suspension log yule, trying out material & Plow Boy is first round material if starting a radio station.
SEGMENT 2 – Jim Thomas: Hoping for something good on Rams from the Governor, hello Jim, expectation of what we will hear, at least good to hear something, waiting until after the election, wondering how much a stadium will cost, nailed down on this site north of Lumiere and south of The Stan Musial Bridge, report of organizing committee/task force to address stadium situation, be nice to have some names and faces on the project, if the city/state hands over land, led to believe that by the end of the year we will see plans for a new stadium, maybe California problem should be California solution, other owners just wanting to collect money for other team moving, language in Governor’s press release mentioning NFL team in STL but not necessarily the Rams, certainly consider Stan Kroenke’s interest in the Denver Broncos if Pat Bowlin passes away soon, local business leaders could have interest in acquiring Rams yet not sure if anyone has that kind of money, buying the franchise ourselves, Doug would be the ownership group face, tots from caller Ellen with lots of sawces and soppins & maybe not enough corporate dollars in this town.
SEGMENT 3 – Loving the hybrid tot hash browns from Caller Ellen, would have loved to have met her, getting food on the wall, cannot blame Governor Jay Nixon for being the first to speak up about the Rams future, the Smothers brothers, other characters from older TV show, Tim Conway still with us, big big families not that common anymore, suggestions on being a parent, “need a daddy to give me orders”, still sideways with Roderick for breaching the suspension log yule, type of food at Doug’s election party, learning who Kimmy Gibler is, apparently ProdJoe cleans Tim’s gutters, people at CBS Sports 920 owe each other money, curious about that side dish options at Zaxby’s, issues with Arkansas, those hill people might pose more of a threat than critters, the love of an inbreed, Doug’s foggy memory… & story about Doug’s cousin or someone’s cousin who would only eat french fries even on Thanksgiving.
SEGMENT 4 – Joe Strauss: Emails will be early today, won’t clean up content, hello Joe, tempering expectations with the upcoming press conference, results of positive news being absent, needs to be evidence to indicate a direction, wondering if the public has enough of an appetite to have taxes effected by an plans, hoping there will be substance not just some kind of ‘dog and pony’ act, Yadier Molina wining his seventh straight Gold Glove, debate that Jonathan LuCroy should have won the award, Cardinals hiring David Bell as the bench coach, interesting that Redbirds made in-house hire, quick thoughts on the Blues winning six straight, doing alright with picks, looking at the college football playoff picture & teams to like plus not like through the rest of the season.
SEGMENT 5 – Email of the Day & Governor Nixon Teleconference: Nice transition from one segment to the next, Rams update live with the Governor, “make no mistake about it, St. Louis is an NFL city”, January 28 the deadline Rams have set to give noticer of plans to execute year-to-year lease, not going to be characterizing our talks with the Rams, “couldn’t have chosen two better people to lead this effort than Dave Peacock and Bob Blitz”, want to move beyond theoretical into more specifics, no comment on any specific numbers or dollar figures, not about a deal but it’s about meeting a standard, differences between Rams and Chiefs in regards to KC’s recent movements, belief that NFL will react very positively that we’re taking proactive steps & reaction to the comments/questions.
