SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Hello again Jay, like that name Jennings, no middle name, Doug’s big post game show, blown away that Mike Matheny went with Randy Choate in the Cardinals 5-4 loss putting them down 2-1 to the Giants, would have gone with Michael Wacha or Carlos Martinez for the 10th inning, also would have kept John Lackey in the game past six innings especially with only 79 pitches thrown, shortening the bench plus the bullpen by pulling Lackey too early, cannot imagine Lackey felt he was done, Bruce Bochy gave the Cardinals a break leaving Tim Hudson in the game for as long as he did, waste of a roster spot if Redbirds will not use Wacha, not taking advantage of depth especially when six of the seven postseason games have been decided by a run, certainly okay with the lineup production especially with Jon Jay and Kolten Wong, especially smarts losing that game wasting 4-run comeback, understand Cardinals had opportunity to get runs from innings 7-10 but cannot go through bullpen if Wacha not an option for whatever reason, cannot believe what’s happening in the ALCS with the Royals up 3-0 over the Orioles, back to wondering about using (more like not using) Wacha, reaction from the phone and text lines, anybody else could have the roster spot rather than Wacha if Cards won’t use him & hello Ellen.
SEGMENT 2 – Jim Edmonds: “Ring My Bell”, salute to America’s hat, hello Jim, tough stuff for Randy Choate, all-around tough play especially with Kolten Wong getting to first base to cover, trying to comprehend why Mike Matheny pulled John Lackey when he did, understand that usual media apparently was not present to ask Matheny about taking out the starting pitcher, not using a player on the roster such as Michael Wacha, passionate takes but not the end of the world, interesting story about Seth Maness’ girlfriend taking over his Twitter account retweeting criticism of Mike Matheny from Andy Cohen & doings with the upcoming kicball tourney.
SEGMENT 3 – The Cat: Doug deciding if he would rather sleep with Shelley Long or Ted Danson, figuring out where Bora Bora is, Doug bullish on Johnson’s Shut-Ins like Tim is bullish on the Cardinals moving forward, Ryan Vogelsong up there in all-time postseason ERA with Sandy Koufax and Christy Matthewson, hello Cat, do not confuse Bora Bora with Tora Bora…, awful for Randy Choate after the game, Choate need a moment immediately after the game before facing a swarm of media, feels like wasted magic coming down from four runs, not too crazy with seeing John Lackey pulled only after 79 pitches, Choate should not be facing right-handed hitters, John Mozeliak said the window is closing for using Michael Wacha, certainly understand Wacha has not been right since returning from the DL, more griping about the broadcasters especially Harold Reynolds, definitely thought the Cards would comeback from the 4-0 deficit, Jay knows Deke Dotem, getting photos of feet because people gave out Jay’s number back in the day, back to the Cal May question about Stan Musial being in the body of Matt Carpenter, more Cal May clips & expecting more from Doug’s postgame specials on the 4 FOX.
SEGMENT 4 – Joe Strauss: No idea what we’ll be talking about a few weeks from now, hello Joe, the impact of Game 3 on the rest of the series, must win situation for Game 4, pulling John Lackey did not seem like an egregious move at the moment, Lackey was a bit surprised when he was pulled figuring that he’d still be pitching if he hadn’t thrown a bunch of pitches early, the situation in which Randy Choate entered the game in the tenth inning, almost as controversial not using Michael Wacha if the Cards decide to use him moving forward, did not think there would be any ‘scholarships’ moving forward, opportunity to see some more runs moving forward but liking Game 4 specifically, asking a lot to expect Cardinals to win starts in which Adam Wainwright is not going, hello Mike Lee, last movie we saw in the theatre, back to those phone lines, dumb premise about the Caridnals’ offense, good pitching beats good hitting or good hitting beats good pitching, role playing with Doug & don’t have to read all the texts.
SEGMENT 5 – Email of the Day
