SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: The mics and headphones need to be addressed on the air, refrigerator magnets, Doug Vaughn twitter parody accounts, Mike Colombo from KMOV verified on Twitter, the captain’s log, Happy Birthday Willie, his brief thoughts on turning 28, Mike Lee tricks Tim to get on the air, Doug was at a CYC game last night, Happy Birthday to Andy Kasten, Willie had a big sports moment in 4th grade, hey there’s somebody in the producer room with Willie and Mike, meet Darren the new board-op, Willie dabbled in pole vaulting, Doug tells a story about a kid suffering a compound fracture after trying the high jump, Cat says bows and arrows were available at his school & Doug with more grade school glory day stories.
SEGMENT 2 – Matthew Leach: We welcome the The Ready Room to the presentation, Matthew also bullish on the Redbirds mostly because they’re a good team plus the look of the rest of the NL Central, the Cincinnati Reds had a very peculiar non-active off-season, Matthew believes the Cards acquiring Peter Bourjos was a very big win, thoughts on Albert Pujols possibly having a bounce back season, always love channeling Tony La Russa from days of covering the Hall of Fame manager, looking around the rest of the league entering the season, over/under on Cardinals win totals for team and individuals, Willie with more stories and him being left-handed, excited for that food from Grassi’s, Danny Mac curious about bull riding, looking to expand the t-shirt division of InsideSTL, any shirt with Doug on it will sale, Patrick Imig checks in, parking tickets in city & Doug once went to a Board of Alderman meeting.
SEGMENT 3 – Terry Yake: Another impressive win for the Blues taking down the struggling Toronto Maple Leafs, the captain David Backes with a hat-trick, the value he keeps demonstrating on a game-by-game basis, the confidence of having Ryan Miller between the pipes, how impressive Brian Elliott has been with so much time between games, Mike Lee checks back in, apparently not happy with Terry, some controversy involving Manhattan Jaspers former coach Steve Masiello with his resume & time for some tasty treats from Grassi’s.
SEGMENT 4 – Email of the Day (Tim’s sign off cut off to ‘gremlin gltich’): Coming up with a new sandwich name for Grassi’s, things getting heated between Bob Ramsey and Joe Strauss on “The Drive Home” yesterday discussing Cardinals, Joe’s article about the Redbirds handling of young players such as Carlos Martinez but not really discussed because of Willie’s birthday, another Cardinals related story not brought up because of Willie, some rules at the new Ballpark Village, some possible stereotypical motivated dress codes at the new venue, anti-hoosier legislation & general thoughts on the folks that attend ballgames at Busch.
