Wednesday’s Show Audio — Blues Drop a Bad One In Chicago

Producer Joe, Wed, 14 Mar 2012 12:18:00 GMT

SEGMENT 1– Intern Zac brought donuts today. I’ll get a nice run in today. I’ll be just fine. I just don’t want to see you get fat. You’ve got a fight coming up. By looking at my physique you can tell I’m not on the juice. You don’t have any drug taking friends, Doug? Doug is heading to Omaha. Avoiding awkwardness with the expense account. Fab Melo has been deemed ineligible for Syracuse just before the tournament begins. Don’t forget the Alabama suit scandal.

SEGMENT 2– These kids in the play-in games are getting screwed out of the experience. Let’s do Blues. Doug sums it up better than anyone. Not the type of game you expect to see the Blues play. The Blues look inept in the shootout. The Rams have signed Cortland Finnegan. That’s a lot of money for one guy. They don’t need attitude. Can anybody cover Vincent Jackson?! How do the WR signings affect the draft for the Rams?

SEGMENT 3– Charles Davis of the NFL Network joins us. It’s not about amount of dollars anymore with NFL free agency. Is Finnegan still good enough? The Rams have a lot of problems to solve with the sixth pick. It’s not a good move to key in on Justin Blackmon if it means losing picks to get there. Steven Jackson has a lot of miles on him. Miami won’t likely sit and not get a QB. Will Cleveland take a QB earlier than they should? The teams that Manning has visited don’t fit the profile of what he would want. The Cat joins us from Chicago. Us on the Blues traveling road show are licking our wounds collectively. I love Doug, but there is a harassment element. Hitchcock didn’t like the way the Blues were playing going into Chicago. Jaden Schwartz will get some useful ice time eventually.

SEGMENT 4– You can work out next to Joe Buck. I don’t think Joe wants lackeys coming in and working out with him. Why does Joe Buck hate the Cardinals? Come to St. Louis, we’ve got nothing. If you don’t know where Wash Ave is, you’d have no clue people lived downtown. It’s a suburban area town. Chicago is a city town, and my town, see?

SEGMENT 5– Candyman, Doug. Brian Conklin of SLU BBall joins us, and has never heard Candyman. The music scene in Oregon has a lot of hippie banjo stuff. Thoughts on St. Louis? What’s wrong with this humidity and why am I sweating? Coach Majerus doesn’t get very emotional on the court. Best Majerus story. The freshmen really grabbed a lot of experience last year, which is leading to success now. Next year should be fun too, coach has a solid nucleus
