SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Doug got his man, curators got the green light from Doug, some general questions about Kim Anderson becoming the 18th head coach in Mizzou basketball history, some concerns about the execution by the Cardinals in their 12-inning loss to the Milwaukee Brewers & some distance beginning to become more prevalent within the NL Central.
SEGMENT 2 – Gary Parrish: Not surprised by Mizzou hiring Kim Anderson, why it’s a more comfortable situation for Mike Alden not to hire Ben Howland, wondering how Anderson will do moving to a D-1 program, never really see anyone of KA’s age begin a turnaround project, the kind of recruiting work that may have to be done with the roster left behind by Frank Haith, just an overall curious hire, has not heard any real negative feedback on Mizzou’s decision, things would have been different considering the inconvenient timing, cannot playback the tape to find out what Gary said, getting tips from the texters & should eat breakfast before the show.
SEGMENT 3 – Brian Grawer: Still wondering about Gary Parrish’s candid comments, Ben Howland seem to have interest in the job, Tim displays his random useless sports knowledge, Brian ecstatic about Mizzou bringing back Kim Anderson, will take some time to get St. Louis and the whole state of Missouri to be a consistent recruiting groud for KA, certainly has a bias with Anderson playing for him but explains why he believes kids will play well for him, how he generally goes about the X’s and O’s, thoughts on why Mizzou passed on KA a few times in past years, his message to those that are skeptical of the hire and culture, people listen to this show, favorite types of candy, Doug leads every fantasy league in whining, a general (maybe old fashioned) view towards the hire while considering the recent state of the Mizzou Athletic Department, really no reason not to buy in & reminiscing about the ol’ Mizzou basketball days.
SEGMENT 4 – Dave Matter: Hard to believe that Kim Anderson was the top choice for Mike Alden, were some breakdowns in negotiating with Gregg Marshall, not fair to call KA the ‘fallback guy’, Marshall made a decision staying at Wichita State was a better decision for him, not really accurate on general response to the hire from a social media perspective since they normally generate negative/cynical responses, believed the other day this was going to be a polarizing decision, the timing of hiring Anderson really could not be better, wondering if Mike Alden will address the past hiring processes in which KA was a candidate, the guys from the Norm Stewart days will certainly support this more than anyone and a some may get a job out of the situation, a lovely phone call & Doug is the Kim Anderson of this presentation.
SEGMENT 5 – Kelly Thames: Certainly loves the hiring of Kim Anderson, KA was actually the first coach to recruit the former ‘Mr. Show-Me Basketball’ while at Baylor before going back to Mizzou, what Anderson will need to begin rebuilding Mizzou back to success, Kelly’s potential interest in joining KA’s staff as an assistant coach, the type of coach he is on the sideline, realizing that maybe the younger part of the fan base not fully on board with this, just give KA some time to work, a lot of us want to see Missouri kids playing for Mizzou, this hire seems to have generate more excitement unlike previous hires (even though Mike Anderson had eventual success), certainly would be great to get some well-known former players on the bench with KA, the unfamiliarity of college basketball an issue just about everywhere, maybe carrying the Kim Anderson press conference live, Doug giving Willie some ‘tude & hello from Rudy.
SEGMENT 6 – WWE Recap: Darin seeks Tim approval on rejoiner music, a strong message from JHE regarding Donald Sterling, Ric Flair was in the ring talking about something we didn’t see coming, big night for Larry Nickel, he got on the USA Network, people lined up to be interviewed by Larry before the match & the top five countries.
SEGMENT 7 – Email of the Day
