SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Jennings Jr. back with us today, Jay always wanted to meet Doug, do not get the personality out of Doug through TV, the Ron Burgundy era of STL, Alpena is the official cap expert of CBS Sports 920, apparently Mike Lee will be stopping by the station for some reason, Willie explains the guests on today’s captains log, playing the 1s and 2s, wondering if we ought to cap the Facebook fan page, Plow Boy plans to do some putting at PGA National, quicker or slower greens, Tower Tee getting quicker, Plow Boy announcing his big Monday on the fan page, Willie talking about a redhead on there, Tim receiving hate mail when he’s not on the show, legitimately fascinated by people who complain about shows instead of changing the station, do not understand why someone would sit through something that they do not like, goes back to Doug’s theory of our listeners being incarcerated, pretty sure Webster Ween Peeker is in prison, Chaps calls, that survey from the NFL, checking out Pocket Tube on our phones, Tim threatening Doug’s pay, when checks use to bounce for Jay and Plow Boy, rat race to get paid, checking out that NFL survey, Justin in Columbia had some details on Twitter, wondering if new stadium seats will be red, wondering about the next the city to have stadium issue, interesting stadiums still going strong built right after The Dome, Marvin calls, upset with Doug about the stadium/arena colors in this town, best/worst arenas in the country, best local area gym bathrooms, Willie experience the ‘squatty potty’ over the weekend, that old money in Glendale at Mary Queen of Peace, more of our favorite local area gyms like St. Michael’s in Shrewsbury, the Mount Rushmore of area gyms, obviously St. Gabes, Doug likes St. Catherine Laboure, that one with the indoor track in South County, that Epiphany was a cage according to Willie, there’s padding in the Kirkwood school district due to head-first incident involving Doug, Willie would argue with his dad the coach during games, Doug had the same issue with one of his boys, Randolph family religion, Willie had an encounter with a woman at the St. Gabes tourney, she gave an opening…, be hot to use the science lab, that’d be a nice feature for Sports Sunday, smoking the worst thing ever according to Jay, time for a smoke break, Shawn calls about the old St. Gregory, plenty of executives come from CYC basketball, the folks from Phillip Morris giving out coupons for smokers, Rich from Phoenix calls, being haunted by Tony La Russa, the car-selling business in the Southwest region, selling fancy cars like the Corvette, “taking a big loss on this one…”, heard Rich on the Colin Cowherd show, Rich ranting off the air about Madison Bumgarner, he’s a bit of a soothsayer & Doug would be okay with moving to the desert.
SEGMENT 2 – Everybody F’ing…, quite the lineup on the phone lines, recapping the best local gyms, Doug tried to teach lesson this one time that almost killed kid who now runs Play It Again Sports, Paul from the wealthy part of West County calls, then we lose Paul…, hello Larry Nickel, Plow Boy has walked away, Mike Lee walks into the studio, all hell breaking loose, Jay has to leave for a real meeting, quick WWE recap, not sure what Larry is talking about…, top five countries, the Natty Nate rebuttal with Mike Lee talking trash, nice quick segue, Neil deMause of Field of Schemes joins the show, thoughts on the new Chargers-Raiders stadium project which would be tough to finance, idea was to bring money like new 49ers stadium, NFL would have to change a few rules about stadium financing to assist the Carson project, Chargers-Raiders might make money back in the long-term, size of the market does not matter all that much if those teams decide to stay put, belief that Carson project announcement is move for those teams to squeeze money out of their current cities, interesting that the NFL has hinted at liking the Chargers-Raiders project more, the league obviously likes the effort from STL, fair amount of owners just do not like Stan Kroenke, wondering about future cities that may have to deal with stadium situation, hard to guess considering that cities like Buffalo and New Orleans have solutions, the Bengals have a crazy contract with Cincinnati like STL had with The Dome, stadium timelines accelerated these days, owners constantly wanting more and more for their stadiums, definitely spend more if the public has to provide funds, would bet on the teams cutting deals with their current cities, second-most likely scenario is the Chargers-Raiders moving and Rams staying, really depends on what the league wants, Mike Lee gives his reaction, still seeing Penny & still getting pics from other girls.
SEGMENT 3 – Oh that Kevin Little, Tim excited to show Plow Boy that I Bar at PGA National, Bill Dwyre of the LA Times joins the show, time since the Raiders and Rams left about twenty years ago, cannot keep connection, got a landline number, Doug miffed that he’s banned from St. Gabriel’s gymnasium, support those Spring Training sponsors, 17 of the 32 teams in the league have used LA as leverage, sense of skepticism in the LA area, no appetite for professional football in the area, no problem having team in LA, no problem with housing two teams, background information on the Carson area where the Chargers-Raiders made proposal, oil situation in that specific area compared to the ‘Clampett’s’ in “Beverly Hills Hillbillies”, area known as ‘toxic waste dump’, last time LA area came close to getting a team wound up being the Houston Texasns, the clean-up process looks to be a big obstacle, people in that area do not want to read about more speculation but something substantial, Raiders have lack of credibility in the area, sense that Stan Kroenke has positioned himself as the current leader, do not forget about Philip Anschutz with his land, cannot believe oil is coming out of the ground in the Carson area, nice little science lesson about the origins of oil, Willie taking heat for reading, Willie fires back, backlash towards entertainment reporters about letting actors speak out on topics, Alpena showing off his hat and t-shirt, the Chinese take-out in Tim’s neighborhood, value of anonymity…, love the work of that TJ Weber, bad radio if you don’t scream at people & support those sponsors.
