Thursday’s Show Audio – STL stadium plan losing steam?

SEGMENT 1 – The big news today comes from Scott Reid of the Orange County Register who reports that enthusiasm for the St. Louis stadium plan is waning, it seems ever more likely that the Chargers will go to LA but that a deal will also be brokered for them to share the Inglewood site with Kroenke and the Rams, if that happens it’s likely over for the NFL in STL, Doug isn’t confident about the Raiders still being in play for St. Louis in that scenario, the perception of the St. Louis proposal is quite different outside of the city … in the league office the financing is just deemed not viable, according to The Cat if you read the entire 29 page application it does seem like Stan has the right to move – despite the despicable rhetoric, it would still be unprecedented for a market to come up with this amount of public money (even if it’s a little short) to be left out in the cold, Tim still can’t see Mark Davis being a part of the Los Angeles football renaissance, Doug however still can’t see Kroenke teaming with Spanos, after reading all the details yesterday Tim is convinced that 2 teams will be making the move, owners seem to clearly prefer Spanos but Tim doesn’t think that necessarily makes them prefer Carson, Caller Ellen checks in with her thoughts on the stadium saga, the FAA is still a major obstacle for Stan and he doesn’t want to build his stadium without a roof because then you can’t host Final 4’s and such, Tim doesn’t understand why we always get angry tweets when Ray Hartmann is promoted, he also doesn’t understand why the victim narrative will continue if the Rams leave – i.e. we got screwed – rather than blaming the bad Dome lease and financial insecurity of the stadium plan.

SEGMENT 3 – Do they still make transistor radios, further discussion of the Scott Reid story and how the stadium financing is being questioned, Timberfake phones in with #HotTakes on drinking tea, now Mike Lee gets conferenced into the call, Doug demands that Timberfake either defend the strap or surrender it, our friend and Cardinals legend Jim Edmonds unfortunately won’t remain on the Hall of Fame ballot past the first year, Hall of Fame Baseball writer Rick Hummel from the Post-Dispatch joins us to discuss the HOF voting, Doug kiboshes Chapps attempted call on The Appliance Discounters phone lines, Tim provides an update on the potential trip to the AVN Awards, discussion of Jay Jr’s foot fetish, Larry Nickel and Travis Terrel from We Are Live are apparently at odds, Chapps calls back and forces his way through so he can admit to harassing Chris Long on Twitter, the funny stuff was apparently lost on hold, Tim doesn’t understand why caller get upset if we don’t put them on immediately, #AudioFun as we play a commercial during the show because it has a clip of Caller Adam, Doug still doesn’t believe in Glory Holes or Unicorns, people from California have apparently migrated to the FB Fan Page, Bobby Vestal is moderating the Fan Page for now because Chrissi Runner Girl was apparently suspended by Facebook for 3 days, does anybody here have snapchat, Caller Adam chimes in to discuss Teen Mom with Plowsy, Joe Roderick arrives and he has the audio of Larry’s snapchat, Email of the Day.
