Canada Sportsnet analyst John Shannon joined The Ryan Kelley Morning After on Thursday to discuss the Blues’ Game 4 loss to the Wild and look ahead to Game 5 with the Blues still holding a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Read a couple excerpts and listen to the full interview below:
What did you make of Game 4?
“I think it was a huge benefit for the Wild to be able to go home. Back in their home for a couple days. Not stuck in the same city for a couple days. I think that was important for them to get out of town (and regroup at their own practice rink).”
On it not being a bad thing for the Blues:
“I don’t think it’s bad for the Blues. They still have three chances to win the series. If they do, they deserve it. At 3-0 against a team some people think on paper is better, it was probably a good mental game for Mike Yeo and GM Doug Armstrong to have with this hockey club.”
