Monday’s Show Audio – Up For Grabs

Willie Springer, Mon, 18 Aug 2014 13:18:00 GMT

SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Maybe we should tape the first part of the presentation, get on that Draft Day, one gentleman upset with the hapless Hardees commercials airing during the Cardinals game on FOX Sports Midwest, something going on behind the glass, Willie fell through the dock at the lake whilst testing a loose concrete floor tile, that E&M Show has been turning into “The Dean Martin Show”, most of the show got intoxicated over the weekend but not The Cat who was #blessed to be at a special place (keeping the location private), fling with a little day named ‘Journalism’, few of the fellas have had the same dream, Tim has dreams about tornadoes, would have thought Redbirds could gain ground in division winning three of four but the Milwaukee Brewers sweep over the weekend, real concern about closer Trevor Rosenthal moving forward, Cards and Brew will see each other seven more times before the regular season finale, wondering how long Mike Matheny will stick with Rosie at the closer assuming a change will eventually be made, interesting numbers in the ‘blown save’ category, the Adam Wainwright fantasy draft that took place last Friday in which a gentleman prolonged the fantastic event by nearly an hour, what we liked and did not like so much from the Rams over the weekend, The Cat met ProdJoe’s ‘mole’ & Willie was distracted by a woman who walked into the control room blaring music on her cell phone.

SEGMENT 2 – Jim Thomas & Joe Strauss: Sam Bradford did not look all that bad besides one particular deep ball, have to be happy for the most part with the Rams QB, growing concern about the running game which is suppose to be the foundation of the offense, expecting to see the full first team offensive line this weekend in what is usually the ‘dress rehersal’ game, thoughts about the defense specifically a few players, one of the most intriguing individual battles is between Michael Sam and Ethan Westbrooks, idea that maybe roster spot intended for Isaiah Pead could open something up for Sam and Westbrooks, thought that the fans have not really bought in just yet but attendance really really down despite announced numbers, some jokes from out of town media about lack of fans showing up, wondering how the NFL views the lack of attendance correlating to general interest, if Rams were to at least indicate they will be here long term…, hello from Brien Rea, calling out Doug for the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ that he apparently completed yesterday, recognizing talent within the industry, let’s go get an encoder this afternoon, hello Joe, direct shot from Joe at passive-aggressive Willie, where the Cardinals are with Trevor Rosenthal, can get away with Rosie moving forward as long as he’s not giving away games, be interesting to see how remaining core holds together for rest of the season, hoping to see Justin Masterson duplicate his previous start, Cincinnati Reds really struggling at Busch so a very good opportunity for Cards, Pittsburgh Pirates falling off a bit too, impressive stuff from the Brewers, thoughts on Michael Wacha throwing off the mound, thoughts on Yadier Molina ‘feeling good’, really did enjoy the Cardinals Hall of Fame ceremony over the weekend & what the induction meant to the guys like Jim Edmonds, looking at who will probably be next.

SEGMENT 3 – Oh wonderful selection on the song, the Christie Brinkley song from “National Lampoon’s Vacation”, wondering who your favorite Pointer sister is, kudos to Jason Motte on his corn-holing charity event, gentleman passing mints in the Denver airport men’s room, that one politician that tapped toes in the men’s room, if Doug had to use the restroom at the airport… & that deep tease we forgot.

SEGMENT 4 – Now a song from “European Vacation”, apparently twas intern Tabitha that wrote the “local broadcast hero Tim McKernan” copy, she was subsequently given a job and raise, Peter King reporting on local guy Blaine Gabbert struggling with the San Francisco 49ers, Doug guessing Buster Olney’s top MLB power teams, season still “up for grabs” & apparently that “Bachelor In Paradise” is just awful.
