SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Big St. Louis Post-Dispatch day, “legit journos”, Doug having to wear normal headsets, Doug already giving up on the Blues, too many Blackhawks fans at Scottrade, tough to get Hawks tickets in Chicago, other situations in which opposing fans invade the home stadium, not wanting to pay for sports events, cheaper to travel to other town if Hawks fan, The Cat was upcharged at the movies, Doug cannot believe how people come up with $300-400 for a game, Doug does not indulge in stadium concessions, chop chop chicky on tickets, Alpena likes too many teams, they’re all sick behind the glass, need to catch up with “Better Call Saul”, watching the Grammy Awards, trouble from Kanye West one again, surprise win for “Beck”, weird how some people appear to react Prince with his scepter, hearing from that award- winning album, STL Symphony shippin’ a Grammy, Doug started watching “Ray Donovan”, another audio postcard from Iggy, quit inviting back troublemakers, best duo partner if Doug were to perform live on stage, James Shields signing with the Padres & Doug remembering Bobby Sherman.
SEGMENT 2 – Billy Gilman robbed at The Grammys, support those sponsors, Jeff Ponder who covers the Blues for InsideSTL joins the show, younger people calling Doug ‘buddy’, Blues looking tired in third period, things did not look that good before the third period either, too many odd-man rushes, pick your spots where you pinch, reading too much into regular season game, ‘sea of red’ at Scottrade Center with Hawks visiting, missing Kevin Shattenkirk who could be gone for a couple months, now Doug going after Jeff & using the word ‘pinch’ too much.
SEGMENT 3 – Prizes later for the show, Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch joins the show, thought Blackhawks-Blues was decent game, thought this team is more geared for postseason run, Cardinals signing Carlos Villanueva for depth, Joe believes the Cubs are legitimate threat to finish at the .500 mark, David Hunn’s piece on visiting Inglewood, fair to say that’s a transitional area in Hollywood, want to see momentum sustained for stadium project, learning that Stan Kroenke spoke with Dave Peacock at a Super Bowl party, bringing another team to STL, that Viper Room in Los Angeles, Alpena has visited the Viper Room, having Twitter battle over Vladimir Sobotka or Patrik Berglund, referring to team as ‘we’, Steve in Wilwood calls, PIN number for Plow Boy, Steve got his car stolen, big weekend being recognized for Plow Boy, french bulldog, hosting people for Mardi Gras, people bring toilet paper, St. Gabriels tourney, Doug gives tips about holiday in Ft. Lauderdale, something about St. James for basketball moments, schools with bowling alleys, more South City schools closing, The Cat made his coaching debut, ‘gentleman’ Jim calls, Steve from Monty’s bringing treats & more sponsors to support.
SEGMENT 4 – “Dance With Me” by the wonderful “Orleans”, Doug needing a dance partner, Tim finally got to see “Birdman”, breaking down the film, more Grammy mention, David Hunn of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch joins the show, just back from Inglewood visting with Mayor James Butts, strong feeling from Inglewood that they’re determined to have football, they want the team that’s easiest to get (including USC or UCLA), obstacles that would prevent stadium from being built, eventual vote will occur, makeup of the Inglewood neighborhood, airplanes flying over the propsed land, meeting Mayor Butts, planes frequently flying over the land (not a red flag), belief that neither Stan Kroenke or the NFL have made their decision yet, Kroenke/NFL certainly working to eventually make their decision, San Diego putting together their own task force just like STL, the role for John Loyd serving as consultant for STL stdium project, obstacles for the riverfront land that includes railroads along with other preparation issues, funding for all stadium aspects that David mentioned, still wondering about NFL expansion, caller wants to know how stadiums were built over a century ago, must know who paid for Sportsman’s Park, few requests to hear from folks that have passed.
