SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Breaking down the Cardinals 5-3 Game 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, every other team (Rams, Mizzou & Blues) win, some decisions that were made such as Carlos Martinez pitching in the eighth, the human element of the game having an effect positively and negatively for the Redbirds, some phone calls from listeners, Pirates Game 4 starter Charlie Morton very beatable, Gerrit Cole more than likely would be the Game 5 starter for Pittsburgh, going back to not using pitcher Shelby Miller as a starter, the hitting not being as timely as it had been throughout most of the season and wondering if the lineup needs more tweaking especially at the top.
SEGMENT 2 – Rams beat Jags: The Jacksonville Jaguars may not win a game this season yet they were able to play with the Rammies, RB Zac Stacy may be a solution to the running game woes, wondering about the outcome if Chad Henne had started over Blaine Gabbert, Doug feels bad for the local QB Gabbert, and an acceptance that Sam Bradford is just plain bad at playing QB in the NFL.
SEGMENT 3 – Joe Strauss: The news Cardinals song does not impress Joe or Doug or Joe, the effect of no longer having closer Edward Mujica, the youth of the Cardinals possibly playing a big factor especially on the pitching side and again looking at how the rotation was set up.
SEGMENT 4 – Howard Richards: Mizzou now 5-0 after an impressive victory on the road over the Vanderbilt Commondores, the way the Tigers have gotten to where they are now, James Franklin and other key players being healthy, looking forward to a very big opportunity next weekend against the Georgia Bulldogs, Doug is concerned about the Tigers’ defense going into bigger games, Georgia having a lot of their usual key players banged up at the moment and maybe why some of us like Mizzou moving forward against some bigger name schools.
SEGMENT 5 – Jim Thomas: Seeing some of the worst teams ever on Sunday at the Edward Jones, asking for some basic improvements such as discipline on special teams, looking forward to the next tweet from Daryl Richardson and wondering what to look forward to for these “Lammies”.
SEGMENT 6 – Jenifer Langosch: Looking at the questionable weather heading into Game 4 at PNC Park today, the umpire looking to be a factor in Gam 3 yet the players not mentioning anything about them in the post game interviews, Jen does not question the moves that were made by manager Mike Matheny, looking at Michael Wacha heading into the Monday night do-or-die situation, the PNC Park boisterous noise, optimism with the Redbirds now facing pitcher Charlie Morton and Charlie Marlow with early Game 4 coverage snapping photos of PNC Park toilets.
SEGMENT 7 – Kelly Chase: Blues sustaining 5 goals scored per game, looking ahead to a big early season game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Jaden Schwartz coming into his own especially with a Gordie Howe hat-trick, the progression of Vladimir Tarasenko, scaring rookies, initimidating opposing teams, Chris Stewart being a man, learning more about Willie, Doug being accosted over the weekend by a loyal listener.
SEGMENT 8 – Email of the day
