Perryville native, the “small but mighty,” Kelly D’Angelo recently took to Facebook to announce that she has signed with MMA’s equivalent to the WNBA, Invicta Fighting Championships.

While D’Angelo could not reveal the exact terms of her agreement, she confirmed that it is a multi-fight deal. She said that while she wants Invicta to be her primary focus, the veteran of the Resurrection Fighting Alliance is also able to fight outside of the organization.
The strawweight (115-pound) fighter most recently fought at Hoosier Fight Club’s HFC 32 in February in Indiana but said that she’d be open to fighting for the hybrid of the merged RFA/Legacy FC, the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA.) There is not yet a date or opponent for her Invicta FC debut.
“Any of these girls are amazing competitors and have made it this far for a reason. So, I just know I have to step up my game and be ready for war,” D’Angelo said.
The pack of dynamite improved to 2-0 as a professional (7-0 overall) by knocking out Samantha Diaz. A boxer before she turned to MMA, D’Angelo has just one win by decision, two submission victories, and four by KO/TKO according to her Tapology.com fighter profile.
“I know the UFC has taken a lot of fighters from LFA and Invicta and that is for sure my goal, but I’m gonna make sure I focus on giving all the Invicta fans a great show right now and building my experience with some top notch fighters.”
