Cade Jones, a sophomore guard for the Brentwood boys varsity basketball team, is this week’s recipient of the 590 The Fan High School Athlete of the Week award.
Jones strung together a monstrous week with 66 points, 33 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 steals in three games.
Brentwood head coach Kevin Kullum said even as a sophomore Jones makes a huge impact on the court.
“He’s a sophomore, but he plays like a senior. He comes into every game prepared knowing that the other teams defense is always trying to stop him. Every game he comes through for us,” Kullum said.
“I’ve just been playing since I was young. I grew up with my dad teaching me how to play basketball, I’ve always enjoyed and have become attached to it,” Jones said.
Jones started every game his freshman season and currently leads the team in scoring and blocks, averaging 15 points per game and two blocks. He doesn’t stop there. Jones also averages 8.4 boards, 2.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.
