High School Athlete of the Week – Duchesne’s Natalie Schroeder

Natalie Schroeder, a senior center for the Duchesne High School girls basketball team, is this week’s recipient of our High School Athlete of the Week for her recent performance this past week in the Warrenton tournament.

Schroeder loaded the stat sheet with 49 points and 35 boards over the span of three games.

The 5’11” center ranks eighth in blocked shots and 14th in rebounds among St. Louis area high school teams.

“I’ve been playing basketball since I was in the third grade. My favorite part of the sport is being able to play with my friends. I have made so many friends throughout my four years of high school playing and grade school, it’s just a fun sport,” Schroeder said.

It’s even more fun for Schroeder to have the opportunity to play with her best friend.

“She’s a really big leader on and off the court, and it’s fun playing with my best friend. Not a lot of people can say that they do that all the time, but we’re together every day playing basketball. It’s honestly just a great experience,” senior guard Annie Benne said.

“She’s a leader in every sense of the word. it’s always a good thing and a good problem to have your best player be your hardest worker,” said head coach Brandon Stringer.
