SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Not sure if Aaron Donald has that ‘want to’, Doug does like how he does put his hand in the dirt plus pins his ears back, a sense of safety where we live, Jon Jay cloberring that big first pitch, not sure if AJ Pierzynski tagged Alexi Amarista, umpire Bob Davidson did not look completely sure when making his call, wondering if Amarista ran outside the base line, Doug came in second place to Rob Manfred who became the tenth all-time commissioner of Major League Baseball, making up new rules for baseball, message sent to Oscar Taveras, Plow Boy describes his appearance, buying hats, looking forward to fantasy football, Doug had some real issues last season, use your own guile and moxy when making picks, Plow Boy almost certain Arian Foster would be out for the season, texters disagree, Plowsie getting agitated, “nip it in the butt or bud”, suspensions being handed out, your kiss is on my list, best time to smoke it up according to Plowsie, hello to ‘caller Dan’, wearing a suit on the baseball field, Billy Gilman will be performing at the Union County Fair along with mule races and a demo derby, can’t imagine anything more boring than a tractor pull, the unsolved mysteries of rural Southern Illinois…, oh gosh, inbreeding…, learning about the Plow Dad & a phone call from Jim quickly becoming ‘The Grand Wizard’.
SEGMENT 2 – Bob Nightengale: Ah the wrong Hall & Oates song but ‘Maneater’ is good, practicing FM voice work, there’s ‘Kiss Is On My List’, local broadcasting hero copy, the legend of Robert Hyland and KMOX Radio, hello to Todd who is promoting a great event possible ‘pony show’ happeing in Clayton which might also feature an appearance from Plow Boy, name of the game is ‘shrubs’ like life, type of sod Tim had put on the wiffle ball field, Doug suspends Tim, ready to cheer for Texas A&M soon but not Doug, playoff picture in baseball really shaping up, hello to Bob, does not believe that Trevor Rosenthal is being overused but really believes his pitch count is the issue, thoughts on Oscar Taveras are that the future is bright but not sure that he’s better than a Jon Jay at the moment, may have to admit there’s too much pressure on Oscar and back him off starting time, the controversial play involving AJ Pierzynski and Alexi Amarista, everyone not really clear on the home plate collision rule & expects new commissioner Rob Manfred to start speeding up the games.
SEGMENT 3 – Aaron Donald: Plow Boy being very serendipitous with Tim after he watched a special on INXS, hello to Aaron, training camp going well, feels that things are going well kind of confirming the good word being quickly spread around about him via players and coaches plus media, the camaraderie process with the new teammates going well, Chris Long definitely the biggest clown in the group, likes what he sees on the other side of the ball, Doug saw him carrying three or four sets of shoulder pads after practice, other hazing stuff…, the origin of calling the contests a ‘spelling bee’, wondering what fore fathers had a stench back in the day, looking into movies coming out & other ramblings.
SEGMENT 4 – Jim Thomas, Ask Lawrence & Cuts of the Week: Bet The Cat will blame Plow Boy and Willie for his draft going bad again, hello Jim, Aaron Donald still looking good but leveled off a bit this week due to some endurance issues, only expect Donald to play mostly in passing siutations once the season gets going (rotation guy), really expecting an overally improvement with the defense this season, if the WRs are really going to step up, the concern with Tavon Austin, not much happening with TJ Moe, have to like what we’ve seen from EJ Gaines, possibly seeing Jake Long in Week 3 of the preseason, excited to see Sam Bradford play, Tim turned down by an old woman offering an autograph, Doug asked to give autographs, time to hear from Larry, time to reflect on the week with some cuts & Doug tells us about the time he got a colonoscopy.
