SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Will Geer instrumental in the Blues 3OT win over the Blackhawks, longest game ever in Blues history, perhaps the best game ever in franchise history, Alexander Steen how about the difference with Vladimir Tarasenko back on the ice, teams 13-5 in a series over the last five postseasons after winning a Game 1 in OT, potpourri of topics, Waino rolls easily, Frank Haith does Mizzou a favor by taking off to Tulsa, haha local Golden Hurricane fans not to pleased, a convenient divorce in the end considering the forecast of seasons ahead, trying out a new Ken Hitchcock drop, not going to end up with that dreamy coach & that Peoria plow getting wise today.
SEGMENT 2 – Love that Biz Markie, how ’bout that Peoria plow by, Willie got a banana at the gas station, oh that Blues win, one of the all-time best games (at least in the modern era), Ryan Miller recovered after a rough first period, Chicago not happy with Blues for reportedly being too chippy after the whistles, almost all Blues fans at Scottrade for the most part considering the fear of how many would be there wearing red, Hawks fans escaping the clutches of Chicago communism, caller JR from yesterday, wondering now about that Russian native Tarasenko & those ebbs and flows of the playoffs.
SEGMENT 3 – Ask Lawrence: How ’bout that Waino, the pass to Steen to bury the Game 1 winner, oh hello Joe, not Strauss, time to hear from Larry Nickel, breaking down that wonderful segment, the amount of local stories crazy crazy, Blues win rules the day, Wainwright pawns the Nationals, the rest of the NHL Playoffs, Doug’s behavior when covering the Blues game, caller Eric calls to regale us with his story about Joel Quenneville (or someone from the CHI bench) kicking him and his buddy out of Game 1, they were a little too loud, some profanities in the area, usher said request came from the bench & texters actually back caller Eric.
SEGMENT 4 – Kelly Chase: Darren in the groove, so important for Blues getting that first goal, slate wiped clean after Game 1 win, maybe not the greatest but a historic win for the franchise, Tarasenko a huge jolt for the Blues, rough start for Miller getting an early second period sarcastic cheer but then makes 35 straight saves to finish game, really believe this will be a rough tough series each (not necessarily 3 OTs), will take a lot of discipline to win series, lot of unruly behavior amongst fans during Game 1, wondering about Jay Bouwmeester who looked a bit dinged up, Mister Guy instrumental in the Game 1 win, eating bananas between periods, Edmonds and McKernan show doing well, that Joe Roderick busy eating not turning up mircophones & Doug helping prisoners.
SEGMENT 5 – Pat Forde, Joe Strauss & Cuts of the Week: Interesting trend of African-American basketball coaches leaving the SEC, coach told Pat there is still racism happening within the conference such as hearing slurs from the stands on a regular basis, look at the Cuonzo Martin situation at Tennessee with petition to have him removed from his now former job, Frank Haith was lucky to keep his job in the first place after the University of Miami scandal, looks like a move by Haith to get out of Mizzou before being fired, learned that African-American coaches have a tough time getting a second job after being fired once, looking at possible replacements for Haith, hopefully hitting a home run but certainly some good names out there for the taking, Mizzou and Tennessee now competing for the best coach, wondering what the hell is happening at the Mizzou Athletic Department, tough to breakdown the trend that is happening in the SEC, hello Joe, interesting new take on the race situation trending in the SEC, could be another African-American coach at Mizzou for all we know, cannot figure out what is happening at Mizzou, heck of a grinder win for the Blues, wondering what kind of toll that game took on both teams, time to look back, call in #BigMan & c’mon Willie let that guy have it.
SEGMENT 6 – Email of the Day
