SEGMENT 1 – Show Open: Hello from Rosalita’s Cantina, excited for the Cinco de Mayo big doings on Saturday, guessing the animals that will be at the petting zoo, not Darin’s animals, how the animals were slaughtered at Darin’s farm, some awkward moments on the Edmonds & McKernan Show talking about the events happening Saturday, the leaking of a WWE script, Larry Nickel joins the show from the bus on the way to school, he’s skeptical yet Doug pushes & hoping to give the 7a hour listeners an early treat with a highly anticipated edition of ‘Ask Lawrence’.
SEGMENT 2 – Ask Lawrence: Ah when women wore sexy house coats in the 70s, time for another edition with Larry, enjoyed Larry’s insight on key issues, discussion of hair loss, using hair growth products like Rogaine in the college years, Tim convinced he has white hair after shaving the head for a decade, getting hair transplants not as painful these days, Rod Blagojevich hopefully talking Cards-Cubs with us from the penitentiary & some newer doings with NFL mock drafts.
SEGMENT 3 – Joe Strauss: Good column this morning on re-evaluating expectations for the Cardinals, does not think the ball club is very solid from a defensive perspective, only winning 90-92 games somehow has become almost unacceptable in some circles, expects Oscar Tavares will be playing centerfield by the end of the month, maybe expected a little too much out of Kolten Wong, believe that Mark Ellis is a better player than seen, second base ought to be locked down whether by platoon or not, Joe believes Jose Fernandez is the best pitcher in baseball right now, more impressed with pitchers that work instead of guys with blazing speed like Adam Wainwright, thoughts on the Rams needs (or wants) with less than a week until the NFL Draft, intrigue of picking up additional picks via trade, anticpates one of the first picks being traded, likes how Mizzou brought in Kim Anderson, not ready to call hiring a home run just yet, certainly likes the coach’s personality but also calling out the fan base to be realistic yet supportive, quick thoughts on the Blues almost a week later, team has to decide whether finding another productive front line player or keeping Ryan Miller, getting back to Mizzou process of hiring the new coach & some love to the texters.
SEGMENT 4 – Jim Thomas: Still looking to milk as many picks as possible from the RG3 trade, the stock of certain quarterbacks dropping, his thoughts on Greg Robinson, would not go wrong selecting Jake Matthews as JT expects him to last at least a decade considering his good lineage, sees a comparison of Matthews to someone like Joe Thomas, Jeff Fisher never taken an offensive lineman in the first round of a draft, had not heard about Greg Robinson until Auburn has success last season, friend of the show Chris Pelican chimes in, Seattle Seahawks won without big time wide receivers & a chance for some ‘time kill music’.
SEGMENT 5 – Cuts of the Week & Email of the Day: Breaking down the wonderful Neneh Cherry, “Save Tonight” by Eagle-Eye Cherry…, getting back into a Rams discussion, time kill music, Willie with a shout out to Joe Roderick Engineering, read some texts, a recap of the Bar Olympics at Friendly’s, boys back on the air, Joe finds out what Willie said about his work, Tim into passionate hot take mode discussing the NBA, Charlie’s interesting flight schedule, Charlie’s take on clubs and music, texters don’t all agree, apparenty there’s a strip club where one can get a steak in the Peoria Plow Boy’s area, Charlie getting a tough time from the texters, time to reflect on the week, remember that time we did that thing with Mizzou & Willie tries to read the emails.
