Today marks the last article of the insideSTL.com music section, as it will cease to exist after August 15. Speaking for myself and the other music staff writers, we have been privileged to have a place on insideSTL.com to bring readers a vibrant pulse on the musical happenings in St. Louis. Between the artist interviews, concert reviews, musical rants, show spotlights and at times down right absurdity, a functionally eclectic section came together that was not only informative and readable, but entertaining as well.
I would first like to thank Tim McKernan for realizing the importance of the growing St. Louis music scene and including a section where it could be discussed and enjoyed. Second, I would like to thank Tim Pickett for his consistent belief in the section. Finally, I would like to thank the excellent writers who have contributed to the section and helped make it a destination for those who enjoy music in St. Louis: Jason Gonulsen, Suresh Mohapatra, Andrew Scovatto and our beloved intern, Alex Schreiber.
While all good things must come to an end, I feel it is only appropriate to highlight some of the exceptional articles and interviews that have graced the pages of the insideSTL music section. Unfortunately, a few hundred articles are still on the old site server, but here are a few choice of the choice offerings from the last three months:
